Manuel E. Castro MD, PhD, FACS

Dr. Manuel E. Castro is a  board-certified General Surgeon who specializes in Weight Loss Surgery. He has more than 20 years of surgical experience and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He  has performed more than 4000 weight loss procedures, and has seen firsthand the difference bariatric surgery can make in people’s lives.

Dr. Castro is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery.  He also served as the President and Medical Director of New Beginnings Surgical Group, Medical Director of both the Weight Management Institute at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and the Bariatric Program at Baylor University Medical Center. He has also been affiliated with Southwest Surgeons for Obesity and El Paso Surgical Associates.
